Ballycastle Ferries

Rathlin Island Service

A service that had been run for a long number of years by local people. In 1997 this service was been taken over by who operate a small ferry which on occasion transports cars, people or even sheep from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island on a daily basis all year round. The journey takes about 45 minutes and has some of the most breath-taking views in the world.

Campbeltown-Ballycastle Service- Suspended until further notice

The second service was quite new and it operated during the summer months only from 1997 to 1999 with a somewhat larger vessel, operated by the 'Argyll and Antrim Steam Packet Company', capable of transporting 50 cars and 300 passengers to and from Campbeltown which is a small town on the east side of the Mull of Kintyre. The journey takes approximately 2 hours 45 minutes.

Merely as a guide last years service operated as follows:
Ballycastle to Campbeltown - 08:00 and 15:30 daily
Campbeltown to Ballycastle - 11:45 and 19:15 daily
Check-in - 30 minutes
